Overview
- Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Perform clinical tasks including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and specimen collection.
- Assist patients with therapeutic equipment and procedures as directed by care plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support respiratory needs through treatments like aerosol therapy and suctioning.
- Document patient data accurately, including vital signs, medication responses, and specimen collection details.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer medications safely and observe patient responses, adhering to state laws and clinic policies.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as catheter insertion, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding.
- Collect and transport specimens, maintaining proper documentation and labeling.
- Assist in emergency situations by initiating CPR and supporting code blue protocols.
- Educate patients on therapeutic equipment usage and care techniques to support recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care plans.
- Ensure compliance with clinic standards, policies, and procedures in all tasks performed.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing or equivalent educational background.
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Proficiency in performing clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and IV insertion.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care standards.
- Ability to work onsite with flexibility for occasional weekend shifts.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for patient records.
