Overview

  • Provide professional dental hygiene services in a community health setting, focusing on preventive care and patient education.
  • Perform oral prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to promote optimal oral health.
  • Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and overall dental care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed dental treatment records using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct oral examinations and health screenings to identify dental conditions and communicate findings.
  • Expose and process dental radiographs, ensuring accurate interpretation and reporting to the dentist.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary dental team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies to enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, including scaling, polishing, and root planing.
  • Examine patients to identify dental issues such as periodontal disease or cavities.
  • Educate patients on maintaining oral health through effective hygiene techniques.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using specialized dental software.
  • Expose and process dental radiographs, interpreting findings for further action.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental electronic medical record software is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Experience in a community health setting is highly valued.
  • Bi-lingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site during standard business hours, including occasional weekends.
