Job Description

Overview

  • Provide psychiatric care to children and adolescents in an inpatient setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor and adjust treatments, including psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated in psychiatry.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to non-physician mental health providers.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and assess contributions of comorbid conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications, ensuring patient safety and efficacy.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, ensuring professional conduct.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Federal DEA and Massachusetts state registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric care; 2 years preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills for collaborative care.
  • Commitment to patient-centered healthcare and quality improvement.
  • Ability to lead and mentor non-physician mental health providers.
