Job Description

Overview

  • Manage grants and contracts operations, ensuring compliance with policies and donor regulations.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the Grants & Contracts unit staff.
  • Oversee financial reporting, invoicing, reconciliations, and grant closeout functions.
  • Analyze grant awards and ensure proper budgeting and accounting of expenses.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow projections and manage collection activities.
  • Assist with audits, journal entries, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to optimize financial systems and processes.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders and external partners to achieve goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise Grants & Contracts unit staff, providing guidance and training.
  • Manage cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen internal communications.
  • Develop and implement grants and contracts strategies and success metrics.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial reports to funders.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Assist with year-end audits and various program-specific audits.
  • Support the Director of Finance & Grants Management in refining financial systems.
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate Grants & Contracts staff performance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze data effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Experience in supervisory roles and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work flexible hours during peak periods.
