Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Surgical Services Department, ensuring excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee preoperative, postoperative, ambulatory, and recovery care services with strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement policies to enhance patient care quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership and accountability for department operations and outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets and operating expenses effectively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee staffing, resource allocation, and operational workflows within Surgical Services.
  • Implement and monitor policies aimed at quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for this leadership role.
  • Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Washington State mandatory.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is necessary.
  • Minimum of four years of leadership experience in surgical services required.
  • Proficiency in English for effective oral and written communication.
  • Strong understanding of safety-sensitive position requirements.
  • Ability to manage budgets and monitor operating expenses effectively.
