Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, valuations, and reporting for a dynamic financial services organization.
  • Develop and implement waterfall calculations, expense allocations, and audit processes to maintain compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategies with organizational objectives and drive growth.
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPIs, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with auditors, administrators, and investment partners to ensure seamless operations.
  • Oversee fund structures, portfolio diligence, and performance reporting for complex financial portfolios.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting teams, fostering professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform reconciliations, asset valuations, and ensure timely and accurate reporting delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and manage waterfall calculations and fund expense allocations.
  • Lead annual audits and manage investor or asset audit requests.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs, driving process efficiency and system integration initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape financial strategies and initiatives.
  • Direct and mentor accounting teams, developing training plans and enforcing firm-wide policies.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors, administrators, custodians, and investment partners.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in reconciliations, valuations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Experience in managing audits and maintaining relationships with financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and process optimization.
  • Ability to develop and enforce accounting policies and controls.
