Overview
- Lead design processes for energy-focused design-build projects, ensuring technical, regulatory, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals to translate conceptual designs into executable plans.
- Provide leadership in design-build integration, aligning designs with construction methods and project logistics.
- Serve as a primary design authority during construction, ensuring adherence to approved documents.
- Support preconstruction and pursuit activities, including proposal development and conceptual design.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations, maintaining alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor design progress to meet budgets and schedules, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Maintain alignment between design intent, construction execution, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and manage the design process for projects from inception to closeout.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and integrated designs.
- Facilitate design workshops and charrettes with stakeholders.
- Monitor design progress, ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.
- Oversee design reviews, constructability checks, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Support construction phase activities, resolving design-related issues and changes.
- Assist in commissioning, testing, and project closeout activities.
- Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience in design development and construction support.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM platforms and design standards.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, systems, and construction methods.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams in Design-Build environments.
- Preferred certifications: Licensed Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), DBIA certification.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.
