Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for private equity strategies, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and controls.
  • Supervise accounting managers handling closed-end funds and separate accounts.
  • Oversee monthly portfolio closing processes, including pricing, reconciliations, and expense accruals.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared under U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and financial reporting controls.
  • Research technical guidance and implement new accounting pronouncements.
  • Review fund and client-specific performance calculations and consolidated fund information.
  • Assist in preparing ad-hoc requests from Client Services and the Investment Team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and mentor accounting managers, ensuring accurate and timely fund accounting operations.
  • Manage monthly portfolio closing processes, including pricing and reconciliation tasks.
  • Review and approve financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley financial reporting controls and documentation requirements.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting guidance and implement new standards.
  • Analyze fund and client-specific performance metrics and consolidated fund data.
  • Collaborate with Client Services and Investment Team on ad-hoc reporting needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and reporting accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in fund accounting or financial management.
  • Preferred 14 years of experience in private equity or investment fund accounting.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and performance analysis.
  • Ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in hybrid work environments.
