Senior Commercial Analyst

Overview

• Contribute to the commercial team's success by managing complex settlement calculations and revenue reporting for renewable energy assets.
• Maintain and optimize revenue-centric models, ensuring accurate investor reporting and invoicing processes.
• Collaborate with external clients to perform market analyses and present monthly results effectively.
• Support the development of tools to enhance efficiency using Excel and Power BI.
• Analyze energy market trends to maximize financial performance of renewable energy assets.
• Ensure compliance with ISO rules and manage REC trading and tracking systems effectively.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver comprehensive investor reporting and explain budget variances.
• Read and interpret contracts to understand commercial obligations and communicate them effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform shadow settlements, validate final settlements, and execute invoicing processes for ISO, hedge, and REC transactions.
• Collaborate with accounting teams on invoicing, payments, and monthly revenue reconciliations.
• Serve as a key contact for asset management clients, explaining market events and pricing dynamics.
• Verify ISO bilateral trade scheduling and support day-ahead/real-time scheduling execution.
• Draft transaction confirmations and ensure accuracy in commercial terms and amounts.
• Investigate budget variances and present findings with related market analysis.
• Create and maintain revenue models for internal and external stakeholder reporting.
• Analyze energy market trends to optimize financial performance of renewable energy assets.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, with 5 years preferred, in a related role.
• Proficiency in Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of ISO rules and REC trading systems.
• Experience in energy market analysis and financial performance optimization.
• Ability to interpret contracts and communicate obligations effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder reporting.
• Knowledge of renewable energy asset management is highly desirable.
