Overview

  • Lead business development efforts for industrial design-build projects in diverse sectors, including manufacturing and advanced technology.
  • Identify and secure new opportunities, positioning the client as a preferred partner for complex industrial projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align strategies with market trends and organizational goals.
  • Engage with decision-makers and industry groups to establish and nurture professional relationships.
  • Support feasibility studies, budgeting, and project delivery strategies with cross-functional teams.
  • Represent the client at industry events and networking functions to enhance visibility and influence.
  • Develop and implement pursuit strategies from qualification to contract negotiation.
  • Maintain a strategic target account list and pursue emerging capital projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Create and execute targeted business development strategies for industrial design-build projects.
  • Monitor market trends, including reshoring and advanced manufacturing expansions, to identify opportunities.
  • Engage directly with owners and stakeholders to uncover greenfield and expansion projects.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction teams to develop proposals and feasibility studies.
  • Manage a qualified pipeline to meet annual revenue objectives and strategic goals.
  • Represent the organization at industry events to build networks and enhance visibility.
  • Lead decision-making processes for project pursuits and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Maintain active involvement in industrial networks to identify early-stage opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, with 10 years preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify and secure industrial design-build opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of industrial project complexities and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pursuit strategies and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging stakeholders and representing the organization.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning and pipeline management to achieve business objectives.
