Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory engagements for diverse real estate clients.
  • Collaborate with partners on strategic initiatives and practice development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
  • Oversee complex tax engagements, including partnership allocations and opportunity zones.
  • Provide technical oversight and ensure accuracy in tax returns and schedules.
  • Mentor and develop managers and junior team members.
  • Manage engagement budgeting, staffing, and scheduling for timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance for real estate clients.
  • Review complex tax engagements, including partnership allocations and cost segregation.
  • Perform high-level review of partnership tax returns and supporting schedules.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues, providing authoritative guidance.
  • Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and entity structuring.
  • Manage engagement workflows across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering career growth and development.
  • Collaborate with partners on client strategy and service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive tax experience, specializing in real estate.
  • Proven ability to lead complex tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Deep technical knowledge of partnership taxation and real estate regulations.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex tax matters.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
