Overview

  • Manage business development initiatives for capital markets, funds, and real estate practices within a leading law firm.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide comprehensive support for pitches, RFP responses, and client presentations to drive revenue growth.
  • Guide attorneys in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities and maintaining client relationships.
  • Oversee competitive intelligence gathering and metrics tracking for business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring quality output.
  • Develop and manage budgets for business development activities, ensuring compliance with firm guidelines.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance portfolio visibility through strategic communication efforts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with practice and industry leaders to implement strategic business development initiatives.
  • Provide support for pitches, RFP responses, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with firm standards.
  • Conduct research and analysis to deliver insights on clients, competitors, and industry trends.
  • Guide attorneys in client development strategies and relationship expansion opportunities.
  • Track and analyze metrics to evaluate the success of business development efforts.
  • Manage junior team members, providing mentorship and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral and lawyer biographies for assigned portfolios.
  • Coordinate responses to directories and surveys, recommending strategic opportunities for recognition.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a field emphasizing writing, research, and strategic planning.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or client service within a law firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/database management.
  • Strong project management skills and experience developing persuasive pitch materials.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building client relationships.
  • Experience with strategic planning and implementing business development initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively to solve complex business challenges.
