Job Description

Overview

  • Support the Surrogate’s Team in representing estates of 9/11 victims.
  • Draft and submit court petitions and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure accurate case handling.
  • Assist clients in gathering necessary information and documentation.
  • Work in a hybrid arrangement, with optional remote Fridays.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft and file court petitions and related legal documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure case accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist clients in compiling necessary documentation for claims.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and requests effectively.
  • Utilize Microsoft 360 tools for document preparation and management.
  • Maintain a client-focused approach in all interactions.
  • Support the team in handling cases related to the Victim Compensation Fund.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and professional work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or paralegal certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in surrogate court preferred.
  • Experience with September 11th Victim Compensation Fund cases is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 360 tools required; Salesforce familiarity preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work onsite Monday through Thursday, with optional remote Fridays.
  • Client-centric approach and team collaboration skills highly valued.
