Job Description

Overview

  • The Patient Liaison supports onsite patient recruitment efforts, ensuring efficient enrollment processes through pre-qualification, pre-screening, and scheduling activities.
  • This role involves direct communication with patients, addressing barriers to study entry, and maintaining accurate records in clinical systems.
  • Collaborate with site staff and leadership to meet recruitment goals and optimize patient enrollment strategies.
  • Engage with local community outreach events to educate patients about clinical trials and their benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines while handling sensitive patient health information professionally.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct patient pre-screening and scheduling activities to ensure smooth enrollment processes for clinical studies.
  • Evaluate patient eligibility through interviews, medical record reviews, and collaboration with site staff.
  • Manage patient communication, including reminder calls, rescheduling, and addressing barriers to study entry.
  • Monitor and optimize onsite patient screening schedules, ensuring adherence to recruitment goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).
  • Support local community outreach events to educate and engage patients about clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage referral leads and enhance recruitment strategies.
  • Assist in training new team members and retraining existing staff to ensure operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare or medical research.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a medical or healthcare environment; 6 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and patient scheduling tools.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred for enhanced patient communication.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Experience with therapy areas and customer service in a clinical setting is preferred.
