Overview
- Lead daily operations of a cardiovascular progressive care unit, ensuring efficient and compassionate nursing practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical and operational processes.
- Supervise a team of 56 employees in a 40-bed unit, promoting professional growth and development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and advocate for resource allocation to enhance patient care.
- Support organizational planning and innovation initiatives to achieve business goals.
- Create a supportive environment for new employees, fostering retention and acclimation to the organizational culture.
- Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate clinical care and supervise nursing staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Promote research and evidence-based practices in clinical and leadership processes.
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor new employees to support their success and integration.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership for organizational planning and initiative evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards in all operations.
- Participate in on-call administration duties as required, providing leadership support.
- Contribute to the professional development of staff and students in a respectful environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN licensure with North Carolina Board of Nursing or eNLC license.
- National certification in specialty area within one year of accepting the role.
- Minimum of five years of recent nursing experience, including two years in a clinical hospital setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, such as charge nurse or manager experience.
- Post-cardiothoracic background required for consideration.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification mandatory.
