Overview

  • Lead strategic tax planning and compliance initiatives for diverse clients, ensuring adherence to regulations and optimizing tax positions.
  • Provide expert advisory on tax implications of complex business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Address intricate tax issues, including multi-state filings and inventory accounting challenges.
  • Develop and implement innovative tax strategies to minimize liabilities and enhance client outcomes.
  • Stay informed on evolving tax laws and regulations, communicating impacts to clients and teams effectively.
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals, fostering technical excellence and collaborative team dynamics.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities to expand client relationships and business impact.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Advise clients on innovative tax planning strategies and compliance solutions tailored to their unique needs.
  • Manage preparation and review of complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
  • Address intricate tax issues, including sales and use tax and state nexus considerations.
  • Develop proactive tax strategies to optimize client positions and minimize liabilities effectively.
  • Provide expert guidance on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws, ensuring timely communication to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide tax professionals, promoting skill development and collaborative problem-solving.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax advisory services; 15 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in tax planning, compliance, and resolving complex tax issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and practices.
  • Experience mentoring and developing tax professionals at various career levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities effectively.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, adaptable to a hybrid work environment.
  • Director-level experience in tax advisory or similar roles is preferred.
