Job Description

Overview

  • Lead asset management for a diverse multifamily real estate portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with acquisitions and financing teams to evaluate new investment opportunities and oversee due diligence processes.
  • Develop and execute asset-level business plans, including value-add strategies and repositioning initiatives.
  • Manage third-party property management teams to drive leasing, revenue, and operational performance.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and performance reviews to ensure alignment with budget and underwriting goals.
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning and execution to maximize investment returns.
  • Prepare and present investment memos and portfolio updates to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering a culture of analytical excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee asset management for a national multifamily portfolio, including Class A and B assets.
  • Manage third-party property managers to ensure accountability in leasing, revenue, and expense optimization.
  • Lead budgeting and reforecasting processes in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Monitor market trends and performance metrics to inform investment strategies.
  • Support acquisition processes, including underwriting and transition of new assets.
  • Conduct site visits and property inspections to ensure operational excellence.
  • Coordinate lender reporting and refinancing initiatives to support financial objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for capital projects and value-add initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with advanced financial modeling skills.
  • 12–15 years of experience in multifamily asset management or related roles.
  • Proven ability to manage institutional-quality portfolios and third-party property managers.
  • Experience with acquisitions, underwriting, and investment analysis.
  • Familiarity with property management systems like Yardi or MRI.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for interfacing with leadership and partners.
  • Ability to travel regularly to evaluate assets and new investments.
  • Background in real estate private equity or institutional investment platforms preferred.
