Job Description

Overview

  • Lead regulatory strategy and advocacy within New York and New England energy markets.
  • Collaborate with trade associations to optimize asset value and market competition.
  • Support business development initiatives for future energy projects.
  • Monitor and participate in state and local legislative efforts impacting energy markets.
  • Coordinate interconnection activities and market design initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve issues within the RTO footprint.
  • Travel as required to represent the company in regulatory discussions and initiatives.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and growth-oriented clean energy organization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Execute regulatory strategies to enhance market competition and asset value.
  • Represent the organization in shared governance processes and trade associations.
  • Track and advocate for legislative initiatives impacting energy markets.
  • Collaborate with consultants to align regulatory strategies with company goals.
  • Support interconnection activities and future project development.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of regulatory activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electricity generation or wholesale marketing.
  • Strong understanding of competitive power market principles.
  • Proficiency in ISO and RTO operations, particularly in New York and New England.
  • Excellent analytical skills and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30% for regulatory engagements.
