Overview
- Deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within a collaborative healthcare team.
- Administer medications, perform therapeutic procedures, and monitor patient responses effectively and safely.
- Support respiratory care needs, including aerosol treatments and suctioning, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and IV insertions adhering to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for tests and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized care environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals effectively.
- Ensure compliance with state laws and organizational policies in all clinical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer medications and observe patient reactions, documenting and reporting as required.
- Perform therapeutic procedures including catheter insertion/removal and specimen collection.
- Support respiratory care through treatments, suctioning, and patient education on therapeutic equipment.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs and phlebotomy, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the care team to implement and monitor patient care plans effectively.
- Assist healthcare professionals during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree required for eligibility.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in administering medications and performing therapeutic procedures.
- Knowledge of state laws and organizational policies governing clinical practices.
- Ability to perform diagnostic tests and accurately document patient data.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient care environment.
