Overview
- Provide advanced litigation support to attorneys in all phases of complex civil litigation.
- Manage case files from inception through trial and appeal, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate discovery processes, draft and file court documents, and conduct legal research.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing case chronologies, exhibits, and evidence.
- Serve as a procedural resource on rules, court requirements, and best practices.
- Mentor junior paralegals and contribute to team development and efficiency.
- Work in a hybrid arrangement with mandatory on-site days for collaboration.
- Engage in high-volume, deadline-driven matters in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist attorneys with document productions, depositions, and case management tasks.
- Conduct extensive legal and factual research to support litigation strategies.
- Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including managing evidence and exhibits.
- Draft and file court documents using relevant filing systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless case progression and compliance.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior paralegals to enhance team capabilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Adapt to unfamiliar roles and support litigation teams as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience in mid to large-sized law firms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and court filing systems.
- Experience with databases such as Relativity and TextMap is preferred.
- Superior proofreading, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage urgent projects and meet tight deadlines effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse staff levels.
- Willingness to travel for out-of-state work as required.
