Overview
- Provide clinical supervision and professional nursing care to patients in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and quality care standards are upheld consistently.
- Coordinate daily huddles, manage materials, and oversee care team schedules.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with nursing standards.
- Collaborate with physicians during examinations and treatments, ensuring optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within 24 hours.
- Support infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
- Evaluate and mentor care team staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the care team.
- Manage care team schedules, PTO requests, and daily operations effectively.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure their completion within scope of licensure.
- Conduct applicant screening, training, and performance evaluations for care team staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
- Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and open orders during care team huddles.
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate with practice administrators.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical chart reporting required.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, patient confidentiality, and safety standards required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently within scope of practice required.
- Skill in mentoring and managing care team staff effectively preferred.
