Job Description

Overview

  • Provide clinical supervision and professional nursing care to patients in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
  • Ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and quality care standards are upheld consistently.
  • Coordinate daily huddles, manage materials, and oversee care team schedules.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with nursing standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians during examinations and treatments, ensuring optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within 24 hours.
  • Support infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
  • Evaluate and mentor care team staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the care team.
  • Manage care team schedules, PTO requests, and daily operations effectively.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure their completion within scope of licensure.
  • Conduct applicant screening, training, and performance evaluations for care team staff.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and open orders during care team huddles.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate with practice administrators.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New York required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical chart reporting required.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, patient confidentiality, and safety standards required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently within scope of practice required.
  • Skill in mentoring and managing care team staff effectively preferred.
