Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage the Med/Surg/Tele unit operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans and strategies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and hospital policies for patient safety and quality assurance.
  • Monitor and evaluate unit performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and enhance satisfaction.
  • Support operational needs by floating between facilities as required, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic planning for nursing services.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of the Med/Surg/Tele unit, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with labor regulations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing staff.
  • Coordinate training programs to enhance staff competencies and maintain certifications.
  • Monitor patient care activities, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for administrative review and regulatory audits.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
  • Active California RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum two years of experience in Med/Surg/Tele nursing management or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in basic EKG/tele interpretation or completion of related coursework within six months.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in staff supervision and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement improvement strategies effectively.
