Job Description

Overview

  • Lead accounting operations for a dynamic financial services firm, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior management to enhance financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Manage external service providers and auditors for seamless accounting operations.
  • Prepare and oversee quarterly and annual financial statements and compliance reports.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making with detailed financial and operational analyses.
  • Ensure adherence to SEC regulations and investment company accounting standards.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Engage with portfolio management teams to support investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily accounting, compliance, governance, and internal controls.
  • Manage quarterly and annual financial close processes and public filings.
  • Supervise external service providers and ensure operational excellence.
  • Coordinate audits and SOX compliance processes with external auditors.
  • Prepare and review compliance reports and financial analyses for management.
  • Develop effective relationships with fund accounting service providers.
  • Support decision-making through portfolio and operational analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 820 and investment company accounting standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification required.
  • 5–8 years of experience in SEC investment company accounting and fund operations.
  • Strong background in SEC financial reporting and fund accounting.
  • Experience with ASC 820 and investment company accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in managing external service providers and business processes.
  • Preferred experience in Big Four accounting and auditing at manager level.
  • Knowledge of Geneva portfolio management system and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
