Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial operations for a multi-entity portfolio encompassing diverse real estate assets.
  • Modernize financial reporting systems, ensuring reliable and forward-looking information for stakeholders.
  • Manage cash flow, banking, treasury, and compliance with debt and mortgage obligations.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis at property and portfolio levels.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs, tax preparers, lenders, and auditors for compliance and reporting.
  • Design and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with ownership on acquisitions, dispositions, and new developments.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring smooth transitions and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage accounting, financial reporting, and close processes across operating companies and property entities.
  • Develop dashboards and systems to enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee debt compliance, loan covenant tracking, and refinancing support.
  • Direct AP, AR, CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and payroll coordination.
  • Support tax compliance and partnership reporting, including K-1 documentation.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate on strategic initiatives such as acquisitions and new developments.
  • Ensure seamless transition of systems knowledge and institutional history.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, ideally within the real estate sector.
  • Proficiency in real estate accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or RealPage.
  • Strong expertise in multi-entity and partnership accounting.
  • Experience with mortgage compliance, lender reporting, and tax coordination.
  • Proven ability to improve financial processes and systems.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator.
  • High integrity and discretion suitable for a family office environment.
