Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Draft, review, and file bankruptcy documents, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific rules and guidelines.
- Conduct legal research using tools like Lexis and Westlaw, performing cite-checking and fact-checking tasks.
- Prepare fee applications and monthly statements, reviewing entries for adherence to U.S. Trustee guidelines.
- Coordinate court filings and document service, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist attorneys in trial and hearing preparations, compiling and organizing necessary materials.
- Maintain and organize case files, monitor dockets, and track critical deadlines across multiple matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to facilitate efficient case management and resolution.
- Provide administrative and technical support to ensure seamless operations within the restructuring department.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required, with a focus on legal studies preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a law firm handling restructuring matters.
- Proficiency in legal research tools like Lexis and Westlaw, with strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with bankruptcy laws, practices, and local jurisdiction rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Notary certification preferred but not required.
- Strong technical and administrative abilities to support complex legal processes.
