Job Description

Overview

  • Lead hospital-wide quality and performance improvement initiatives to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee risk management processes, including occurrence reporting, analysis, and clinical outcomes evaluation.
  • Develop and implement accreditation and regulatory compliance programs for the healthcare facility.
  • Collaborate with hospital management to promote safe patient care and regulatory adherence.
  • Coordinate activities related to clinical excellence, process improvement, and regulatory readiness.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical quality, patient safety, and accreditation-related issues.
  • Manage investigational activities associated with liability occurrences and claim pre-litigation files.
  • Provide preventative risk management assessments and in-service education to healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement and oversee quality improvement initiatives aligned with regional healthcare standards.
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of patient safety data and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and manage accreditation and compliance programs for the hospital.
  • Promote regulatory compliance and safe patient care through leadership and collaboration.
  • Facilitate activities in clinical excellence, process improvement, and regulatory readiness.
  • Provide consultation and education on risk management and accreditation issues.
  • Negotiate resolutions for liability occurrences with corporate risk management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with established competencies within the designated introductory period.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience as an RN.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality improvement and risk management.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written; additional languages preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to utilize healthcare software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address patient safety and regulatory issues.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
