Medical Director Overview

  • The Medical Director role focuses on leading outpatient primary care services, emphasizing HIV/AIDS treatment and LGBTQ+ community healthcare.

Medical Director Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical care to patients, specializing in HIV/AIDS treatment within an outpatient primary care setting.
  • Lead and mentor a team of healthcare professionals, including Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Ensure compliance with medical standards and protocols, maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to optimize clinic operations and patient experience.
  • Participate in shared call schedules, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Engage in community outreach and research initiatives focused on HIV and LGBTQ+ health.
  • Oversee patient volume, managing up to 15-18 patients per day effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance clinic performance and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulations.

Medical Director Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a valid Medical Board license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably 7 years, in primary care or related field.
  • Experience in treating HIV/AIDS patients in an outpatient setting.
  • AAHIVM Certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Valid DEA and Furnishing license, along with current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Proven leadership experience managing Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Comfortable working with LGBTQ+ community and diverse patient populations.
  • Strong administrative and clinical skills to balance duties effectively.
  • Ability to relocate and work onsite, with relocation reimbursement available.
