Payroll Administrator Overview

  • The Payroll Administrator will manage payroll operations for approximately 500 employees, ensuring compliance with labor regulations and accurate record-keeping.
  • This role involves transitioning payroll systems from Sage Timberline to CMiC Construction Software.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to process payroll, administer benefits, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work on-site in a structured environment with provided lunch and parking facilities.
  • Ensure accurate tax preparation and compliance with union and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Contribute to maintaining employee satisfaction through effective payroll and benefits administration.

Payroll Administrator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process payroll for approximately 500 employees, including union workers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer new hires, data entry, direct deposit setups, and employee deductions.
  • Set up and manage garnishments, levies, child support, and 401K deductions.
  • Prepare and pay weekly and quarterly payroll taxes, maintaining compliance.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate recording of vacation and sick days.
  • Prepare certified payrolls and ensure compliance with labor union agreements.
  • Collaborate with the team to transition payroll systems and optimize processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related activities.

Payroll Administrator Job Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree or equivalent educational background required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, with 5 years preferred.
  • Experience with labor unions and collective bargaining agreements is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll software systems.
  • Knowledge of Sage Timberline or CMiC Construction Software preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in payroll administration.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday in a structured environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and issue resolution.
