Tax Manager Overview
- The Tax Manager role involves managing tax compliance and planning for investment fund structures and joint venture arrangements.
- Support tax functions for a growing alternative asset manager focused on energy investments.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
- Oversee partnership allocations and investor tax reporting, including Schedule K-1s.
- Assist in tax planning initiatives across fund and management company entities.
- Work within a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site collaboration.

Tax Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage joint ventures in oil and gas, supporting portfolio company activities and transaction processes.
- Review partnership returns, K-1 packages, corporate returns, and earnings and profits calculations.
- Coordinate outsourced tax compliance functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare forecasts of taxable income and tax holdbacks on distributions.
- Compile and maintain fund statistical analyses and develop tax dashboards.
- Respond to investor tax-related queries and due diligence questionnaires.
- Support quarterly estimate, extension, and return payments processes.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and contribute to internal reporting initiatives.
Tax Manager Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in partnership taxation and investment fund structures.
- Preferred 8 years of experience, with exposure to energy-focused investments.
- Exceptional analytical skills and ability to navigate multi-entity investment vehicles.
- Experience working within asset management, private equity, or investment platforms.
- Proficiency in managing tax compliance and planning initiatives.
- Strong understanding of partnership tax concepts and joint venture arrangements.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment combining remote and on-site collaboration.
