Mechanical Engineering Manager Overview

  • The Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing team, combining technical expertise with leadership to deliver mission-critical electromechanical products.
  • Drive mechanical architecture decisions, ensuring system-level integration and successful product delivery across structural, thermal, and manufacturing domains.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with broader business and product objectives.
  • Establish and maintain engineering processes, design reviews, documentation standards, and best practices for rapid development and maintainability.
  • Identify and address technical and organizational challenges, removing roadblocks to improve team effectiveness.
  • Provide technical direction and review complex electromechanical design decisions, ensuring reliability and operational requirements are met.
  • Lead projects from concept through deployment, balancing schedule, scope, technical risk, and product requirements.

Mechanical Engineering Manager Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience designing complex electromechanical systems, robotics, or highly engineered products.
  • Strong project management skills, balancing development speed, product quality, and technical risk.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise in precision mechanisms, motion systems, thermal management, and ruggedized hardware preferred.
  • Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-paced environments is a plus.
