Superintendent Overview

  • The Superintendent will oversee field operations for industrial and multifamily construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with project managers, development teams, and leadership to achieve project goals and maintain alignment.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules, codes, and specifications while managing subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project phases.
  • Review project documentation to identify and mitigate potential risks proactively.
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, logistics, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate inspections, permits, and approvals to ensure compliance and project progression.
  • Represent the client professionally with stakeholders, municipalities, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports of field activities and project status.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and manage daily field operations for large-scale construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules in collaboration with leadership.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular meetings and planning activities to maintain project alignment.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
  • Identify schedule risks and develop solutions to maintain progress.
  • Assist with project turnover, commissioning, and closeout activities.
  • Promote safety, quality control, and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.

Superintendent Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; advanced construction certifications preferred.
  • 5-10 years of commercial construction field experience, preferably with large-scale projects.
  • Proven expertise in supervising industrial, warehouse, or multifamily construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in reading architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Experience with construction technology and project management software like Procore preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred; ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
