PACU Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery Center Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor patient vitals during procedures, ensuring safety and effective care delivery.
  • Assist in procedure room preparation and maintain sterile techniques throughout operations.
  • Provide recovery room care, assessing patient discharge readiness post-procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and narcotic drug logs.
  • Support inventory management by assisting with inventory counts and supplies.
  • Adhere to OSHA and radiation safety policies during procedures involving C-Arm usage.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and phone conferences as needed.
  • Demonstrate punctual and consistent attendance as scheduled, ensuring team reliability.

PACU Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery Center Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) from an accredited institution required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in critical care, interventional radiology, or medical/surgical settings required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Preferred qualifications include CNOR certification and experience with EMR applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills are vital for success.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment safely, adhering to physical demands.
