Job Description

Licensed Practical Nurse Overview

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide essential clinical support in a dynamic healthcare environment, assisting providers in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient services and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all individuals.
  • Support Point of Care (POC) procedures, including rapid testing, sample collection, and vaccinations, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Perform small medical procedures such as wound care and OBGYN-related tasks under supervision.
  • Maintain infection control standards and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
  • Work closely with providers to manage patient flow, room setups, and follow-up on laboratory results.
  • Participate in vaccination clinics and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Engage with diverse populations, including the LGBTQ community, ensuring inclusive and respectful care.
  • Utilize Epic EMR or similar systems to document patient interactions and maintain accurate records.

Licensed Practical Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Set up examination rooms and ensure readiness for patient visits.
  • Follow up on laboratory results and assist in patient education regarding their care plans.
  • Participate in vaccination clinics and provide dedicated support to healthcare providers.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems to document patient interactions accurately.

Licensed Practical Nurse Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional nursing certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Point of Care procedures, including rapid testing and sample collection.
  • Experience with Epic EMR or similar electronic medical records systems.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to perform small medical procedures, such as wound care and OBGYN-related tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations, including the LGBTQ community.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and rotating Saturdays.
