- The Superintendent role oversees daily field operations for commercial construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and timely completion.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.
- Manage site logistics, scheduling, and manpower to optimize project execution.
- Ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Lead safety initiatives, quality control, and housekeeping efforts on-site.
- Resolve field conflicts and unforeseen conditions to maintain project momentum.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and project closeout activities effectively.

Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide field leadership for commercial construction projects from mobilization to completion.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners daily.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the project team.
- Plan and manage site logistics, material deliveries, and inspections.
- Review construction documents to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Conduct regular subcontractor meetings and lead daily coordination efforts.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Resolve field conflicts and unforeseen conditions effectively.
- Communicate progress and field issues to the project manager and leadership team.
Superintendent Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or related roles.
- Preferred 10 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred.
- Proficiency in construction scheduling and project management software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and site logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction documents.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage project teams and subcontractors effectively.
