- The Conflicts Attorney plays a vital role in managing risk and professional responsibility within the firm.
- Analyze complex conflicts of interest and provide guidance to ensure compliance with ethical standards and firm policies.
- Collaborate with partners, lawyers, and professionals across the firm’s global platform to address conflicts and risk management issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on conflicts, ethics, and risk management matters, contributing to informed business decisions.
- Provide training and mentorship to the conflicts and intake team, enhancing their expertise and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain expertise in conflicts of interest and professional responsibility principles, staying updated on emerging developments.
- Participate in departmental initiatives, process improvements, and special projects related to conflicts and new business intake.
- Support after-hours conflicts and new business intake processes on a rotating basis as needed.
- Contribute to the firm’s reputation by ensuring compliance and mitigating risks effectively.
Conflicts Attorney Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze high-risk and novel conflicts of interest issues, recommending appropriate resolution strategies.
- Advise on professional responsibility obligations and risk management considerations under ethics rules and firm policies.
- Review conflicts reports and due diligence findings, providing legal analysis and guidance on next steps.
- Draft and negotiate conflict waivers, engagement letter provisions, and other conflicts-related documentation.
- Evaluate proposed representations involving various types of conflicts, ensuring legal and reputational risk mitigation.
- Advise on ethical screens and risk mitigation measures to address conflicts and professional responsibility concerns.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to address conflicts and ethics issues affecting the firm and its clients.
- Provide training and guidance to the conflicts team on analysis and firm policies.

Conflicts Attorney Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in conflicts, risk management, or related legal functions within a law firm.
- Strong analytical skills and legal judgment to evaluate complex relationships and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain conflicts issues and recommended actions clearly.
