Producer Licensing Specialist Overview

  • The Producer Licensing Specialist will manage licensing and regulatory compliance for individual licensees supporting insurance operations.
  • Ensure timely application submissions and renewals for various individual licenses, including Producer, Surplus Lines Broker, and Reinsurance Intermediary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and insurance regulators to address licensing inquiries and compliance matters effectively.
  • Maintain accurate contact information, affiliation records, and regulatory filing materials for compliance purposes.
  • Conduct research to gather licensing and compliance information, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Draft correspondence and manage payments to vendors and regulators in coordination with the accounting department.
  • Support new business initiatives by coordinating licensing and regulatory solutions promptly.
  • Contribute to team efforts, handling multiple priorities and fostering strong relationships across departments.

Producer Licensing Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and submit initial applications and renewal filings for individual licenses, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate with insurance regulators and internal contacts to resolve licensing issues effectively.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and regulatory filing materials for compliance and best practices.
  • Research licensing and compliance information to support regulatory adherence and business needs.
  • Draft correspondence and reconcile payments with vendors and regulators in collaboration with accounting.
  • Implement processes prescribed by insurance regulators and address inquiries related to individual licensees.
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments, ensuring high-quality execution and attention to detail.
  • Build strong relationships within the licensing team, legal department, and other organizational units.

Producer Licensing Specialist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  • Preferred qualifications include paralegal certification and insurance industry experience.
  • Experience with property & casualty insurance licensing across multiple jurisdictions is advantageous.
