- The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner delivers compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care in a hybrid work environment, combining remote and on-site responsibilities.
- Provide evidence-based psychiatric services to diverse populations, including children and adults, in community clinic settings.
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure the delivery of integrated and exceptional care.
- Support new psychiatric practitioners and students through clinical orientation and mentorship programs.
- Participate in training and supervising psychiatric nurse practitioner students and newly graduated NPPs.
- Engage in community partnerships to address health disparities and celebrate community strengths.
- Stay updated with evidence-based practices to ensure the application of psychiatric best practices.
- Contribute to administrative and leadership initiatives to streamline program operations.
- Provide psychiatric support at clinical programs, including prescription coverage and consultations.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct psychiatric assessments, clarify diagnoses, and recommend treatment options for clients.
- Provide medication management and discharge planning for individuals in clinical programs.
- Support psychiatric best practices and assist with clinical orientation for new hires.
- Mentor psychiatric nurse practitioner students and provide coverage for clinical programs as needed.
- Offer case consultations and establish escalation pathways for clinical programs.
- Deliver supervision via remote platforms and ensure effective use of electronic health records.
- Participate in temporary assignments at clinical programs with psychiatric vacancies.
- Provide client education on mental health strategies for recovery and progress review.
- Collaborate with community partners to enhance health outcomes and address disparities.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements
- Active New York State Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license and DEA certification.
- Approved PECOS and OPRA status in New York State required.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience providing psychiatric care across diverse diagnoses and demographic groups.
- Comfort supervising students and newly graduated practitioners in clinical settings.
- Ability to work two days on-site and three days remotely in a hybrid model.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency preferred for bilingual client support.
