CAD Administrator Overview

• The CAD Administrator will oversee Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads design environments, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and IT staff to enhance productivity and streamline workflows across multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical support and training to improve user proficiency and promote best practices across multiple office locations.
• Maintain and update CAD standards, templates, and feature definitions to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to implement continuous improvements in design technology platforms.
• Administer software updates, patches, and licensing within Bentley CONNECT environments, ensuring system compliance.
• Support integration with ProjectWise and other Bentley applications to optimize project workflows.
• Contribute to the development of firmwide CAD standards and procedures to enhance deliverable quality.

CAD Administrator Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Administer and configure Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer environments, managing workspaces and user configurations.
• Develop and maintain cell libraries, templates, and CAD standards to ensure consistency across projects.
• Troubleshoot software issues and provide day-to-day support for engineering and production staff.
• Create training materials and lead sessions to enhance user proficiency and adherence to best practices.
• Implement software updates and patches, ensuring system compliance and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with teams to streamline workflows and improve project deliverable quality.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with software licensing and deployment, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

CAD Administrator Job Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience administering Bentley MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer environments.
• Strong understanding of workspace configuration, feature definitions, and template development.
• Experience with Bentley CONNECT applications; ProjectWise experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with civil engineering, transportation, or infrastructure project workflows preferred.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues.
• Knowledge of VBA, PowerShell, Python, or other automation tools is a plus.
• Ability to support multidisciplinary teams across multiple office locations effectively.
• Familiarity with DOT standards and CAD best practices preferred.
