Accountant Overview

  • Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in annual audits and the preparation of 1099 filings, contributing to organizational transparency.
  • Work closely with departments to review and process expenses, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, for financial analysis.
  • Gain experience with nonprofit accounting software and principles, including Abila MIP and US GAAP.
  • Contribute to special projects and tasks, showcasing adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process accounts receivable and payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Support weekly ACH/check runs and expense reviews for departmental efficiency.

Accountant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, demonstrating foundational knowledge in financial principles.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, including internships or relevant coursework.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting software, such as Abila MIP, is preferred.
