Job Description
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Lead, develop, and manage client projects from early concept to design development
- Implement knowledge of architectural design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and materials
- Prepare detailed drawings depicting the appearance and interior structure of a building project
- Utilize computer software to prepare project design and plans
- Consult with clients to determine and ensure their requirements are being met
- Direct staff in the development of project conceptualization, drawings, and budgets
- Prepare work contracts for building contractors
- Visit building worksites to ensure work is being done according to plan and safety regulations are being met
- Resolve design issues and direct staff with logical and practical solutions
- Prepare and present architectural studies for alterations to existing structures
- Work in tandem with the Project Manager to maintain the activities of workers
- Produce construction documents in AutoCAD
- Provide leadership and mentorship in areas of expertise to peers, developers, and management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required
- Master’s degree in Architecture is a plus
- Proven working experience as an architect
- Expert knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, construction details, etc.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, & Microsoft Office
- Strong imagination and ability to think both creatively and logically
- Visual awareness and eye for detail
- Strong communication and project management skills
