Job Description
Our client is seeking a Leaves and Accommodations Manager to work fully remotely! Must be based in NYC, Washington DC, or Chicago and have management experience. Exempt position offering salary between 133K-175K depending on experience. Bonus eligible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject-matter expertise on global leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation, ergonomics, and compliance programs.
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring alignment with the Firm's strategic goals, policies, and federal and state regulations.
- Define and prioritize initiatives related to the Firm’s leave programs, including workers’ compensation, accommodations, and ergonomics, and manage the preparation and maintenance of SOPs and project plans.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, DOL, and IRS regulations, in collaboration with Department Management, Business Operations Directors, and Talent Management.
- Lead the implementation of new programs, portal updates, vendor RFPs, and contract negotiations related to leaves of absence.
- Manage the Firm’s workers' compensation program, including handling claims, settlement negotiations, and coordination with outside counsel for depositions/hearings.
- Regularly review and update policy documents to reflect changes in regulations and best practices.
- Oversee payroll and benefit premium collection for employees on leave.
- Prepare reports outlining individuals currently on leave and any applicable budget relief for timekeepers.
- Initiate the interactive process for ADA accommodations when necessary and review accommodation requests, providing recommendations as needed.
- Ensure all records related to leaves of absence, workers' compensation, ergonomics, and accommodations are accurate and complete.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally in Human Resources or a related business field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in leave of absence administration.
- At least 3 years of management experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional services environment.
