Job Description
Title: Word Processing Lead Operator
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit, input, scan, and format complex legal documents accurately and efficiently
- Format large Excel spreadsheets for print and presentation
- Coordinate detailed distributions of legal and non-legal materials
- Review and estimate time requirements for incoming document requests
- Support team transitions by ensuring accurate workflow turnover across shifts
- Electronically track projects and maintain up-to-date workflow data
- Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting document issues
- Facilitate conversion and compliance of PDFs to PDFA format
- Create and edit graphic presentations in PowerPoint and other applications
- Attend ongoing training to stay current on firm software and document standards
- Cover alternate shifts as needed and support team-wide workload balancing
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in a legal or corporate word processing center
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of legal document formatting and editing best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of working under pressure
- Professional demeanor with a client-service orientation
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems quickly
- Comfortable coordinating across teams and shifts to ensure production continuity
