Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to join our NICU leadership team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Nurse Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a supportive environment for both patients and staff in our state-of-the-art 24-bed Level III NICU.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nurse Manager in the daily operations of the NICU
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
- Assist in managing budget and resource allocation
- Support staff education and professional development
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff
- Participate in scheduling, staffing, and recruitment activities
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and staff satisfaction
Qualifications
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Current RN license in California
- Minimum 5 years of NICU nursing experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience (charge nurse, coordinator, or management)
- NCC certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing preferred
- BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
- Strong clinical knowledge of neonatal care and current evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to mentoring others
