Pre-Op & PACU Registered Nurse

Job Requirements

The Pre-Op & PACU Registered Nurse must possess:

  • Current California RN license in good standing with recent Pre-Op/PACU experience in an ambulatory surgery or hospital setting
  • Strong assessment skills and ability to recognize subtle changes in patient condition
  • Experience with pre-operative patient preparation and post-anesthesia recovery care
  • Knowledge of pain management protocols and post-surgical complications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Job Responsibilities

The Pre-Op & PACU Registered Nurse will:

  • Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and required documentation
  • Prepare patients for spine, orthopedic, and pain management procedures according to established protocols
  • Monitor and assess post-anesthesia patients, including vital signs, pain levels, and recovery progression
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered, maintaining accurate documentation
  • Provide discharge instructions and education to patients and families
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Travel between multiple ambulatory surgery centers within Northern Los Angeles County as needed
