Assistant Project Manager- Commercial Construction

Greater Indianapolis, IN

A respected and award-winning commercial construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of high-impact projects across multiple sectors. What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent from preconstruction through closeout
  • Manage submittals (shop drawings, product data, and samples) and RFIs
  • Draft contracts, purchase orders, and change orders (CR/PR)
  • Coordinate material procurement and assist with permitting
  • Maintain construction schedules, assist in schedule updates
  • Attend and document project meetings
  • Help prepare project manuals, owner training resources, and closeout documentation
  • Assist with onsite coordination and support when needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
  • 1–3+ years of relevant commercial construction experience
  • Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Timberline, BlueBeam, and SmartSheets
  • A proactive communicator with a "safety-first" mindset and a passion for quality craftsmanship
