Job Description
Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Columbus, OH
A leading commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This position is ideal for a construction professional with a proven track record of managing large-scale, ground-up projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery for commercial construction projects ranging from $30M to $200M+
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones and budgets are met
- Lead and manage the project schedule, budget tracking, change management, RFIs, submittals, and procurement processes
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards on the jobsite
- Mentor and supervise project engineers, assistant project managers, and other team members
- Participate in project buyout, negotiate contracts, and manage subcontractor relationships
- Regularly communicate project status to stakeholders and senior leadership
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in commercial construction project management working at a general contractor
- Demonstrated success managing ground-up projects in the $30M–$200M+ range
- Experience in one or more of the following markets: warehouse/distribution, healthcare, light industrial, higher education, or K-12
- Proficient in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
