We’re partnering with a respected healthcare organization in South Texas seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nursing Director to lead their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is a pivotal opportunity for a skilled nursing leader to step into a high-impact role overseeing a specialized care environment that supports the tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

In this key role, you’ll provide clinical and operational oversight for the NICU while serving as a critical liaison between nursing teams, medical staff, and hospital leadership. You’ll partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to drive initiatives that ensure the delivery of high-quality, family-centered neonatal care.
This role isn’t just about running a unit—it’s about shaping the culture, leading change, and strengthening outcomes in a high-acuity, mission-driven environment.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and mentor a team of NICU nurses, ensuring clinical competency and compassionate, evidence-based care.
- Oversee staffing, budgets, and day-to-day operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with hospital executives to develop strategic goals and performance improvement plans.
- Build and sustain a supportive, team-oriented environment grounded in clinical excellence and accountability.
✅ What They’re Looking For
- Active and current RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Associate degree in Nursing with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a BSN required
- Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare-related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting (NICU experience required)
- AHA BLS certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive patient-first care
