Job Description
An advanced 300 bed Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead and grow its perioperative program. This is a high-impact leadership role with 24/7 responsibility for Surgical Services, including OR, Pre-Op, PACU, PAT, and Sterile Processing. The hospital recently completed an expansion adding four new ORs, and with monthly surgical volume averaging 850–900 cases, this is a dynamic opportunity to oversee operations in one of the region’s most robust surgical programs. The Director will report to the VP of Surgical Services and will directly lead over 130 FTEs, supported by supervisors, CNCs, and an upcoming department manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all perioperative areas including OR, Pre-Op, PACU, PAT, and SPD
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered surgical care across all specialties
- Drive operational performance, compliance, and continuous process improvement
- Monitor quality metrics, event reporting, and staff performance; develop strategic action plans
- Promote employee engagement, development, and retention across all surgical units
- Oversee budgeting, capital equipment planning, and financial stewardship
- Foster physician alignment, enhance patient satisfaction, and support service line growth
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and serve on key committees
- Lead department expansion, onboarding of new technologies, and patient service innovations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven leadership in surgical services (Director or experienced Manager-level candidates encouraged)
- Track record of success in operational oversight, staff development, and quality improvement
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to throughput, team leadership, and system navigation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
- Current RN license (or eligible) in the state of Nevada
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in surgical services
- CNOR and/or CSSM certification preferred
