Security & Banking Equipment Field Service Technician

Location: Syracuse, NY

Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel Required: Yes – local/regional travel to client sites

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Field Service Technician with a strong background in EITHER electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Alarms) OR banking equipment (ATMs, TCRs, Coin/Currency Handling Devices). This hybrid role is ideal for a technician who thrives in a dynamic field environment, has excellent problem-solving abilities, and is committed to delivering high-quality service with a strong customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain enterprise-level security systems, including:
    • Access Control systems
    • IP-based Video Surveillance/CCTV
    • Intrusion Detection systems
    • Video Analytics
    • Visitor Management systems
  • Service and maintain banking equipment, including:
    • ATMs and Enhanced ATMs
    • Teller Cash Dispensers (TCDs) and Recyclers (TCRs)
    • Coin and Currency Handling Machines
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues both onsite and via remote support platforms.
  • Terminate, label, and test structured cabling for data and security system infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and resolutions.
  • Lead small project teams during installations and act as the primary on-site technician.
  • Manage quality control and ensure all work meets industry and company standards.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing your own service calls in coordination with the Dispatch Team.
  • Deliver fanatical customer service and communicate professionally with clients at all times.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed and participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience installing and servicing:
    • Commercial access control and video surveillance systems
    • Intrusion alarm systems
    • ATM and other cash automation hardware (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routers/switches, port forwarding).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Must be process-oriented and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications from manufacturers or industry bodies (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Axis, NCR, Hyosung, etc.).
  • Familiarity with remote diagnostic tools and ticketing systems.
