Job Description
A leading-edge Ambulatory Surgery Center in San Diego County is seeking an experienced Administrator to oversee daily operations and drive clinical and financial performance. This 6-OR facility specializes in Orthopedics and Pain Management and is positioned for continued growth.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader with ASC experience—or hospital surgical leadership and strong ASC exposure. Candidates with orthopedic program experience and/or a history of launching or expanding ASC operations are highly encouraged to apply.
Operational Oversight
- Direct day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and vendor relations.
- Serve as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, Home Office, and departments.
- Provide regular reporting and appoint leadership coverage when needed.
Financial & Business Leadership
- Develop and manage annual budgets, purchasing plans, and staffing models.
- Lead performance reviews and operations calls with USPI’s Home Office.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, contracts, and internal policies.
Team & Culture
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and staff development; conduct regular staff meetings.
- Monitor productivity and adjust staffing based on case volume and efficiency metrics.
- Promote a high-performing, collaborative culture across departments.
Clinical Operations
- Ensure high-quality care aligned with accreditation and CMS standards.
- Work with the Medical Director to evaluate and grow surgical services.
- Oversee nursing, medical records, supply chain, and key support functions.
Quality & Compliance
- Lead infection control and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify areas for clinical and operational improvement using performance data.
- Support physician satisfaction, credentialing, and staff-physician collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 3 years in ASC or hospital surgical leadership.
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures and ASC operations.
- Experience with facility startups or service expansion preferred.
- Proven leadership, communication, and business acumen.
